Saudi Arabia claims that two oil tankers were sabotaged

  • Gulf TV, Saudi Arabia

It was revealed today that two Saudi tankers – one due to pick up oil destined for America – were left with ‘significant damage’ after being sabotaged off the UAE on Sunday. Officials are still trying to determine who was behind the attacks and how they were carried out – but the incident comes after the U.S. warned ships that ‘Iran or its proxies’ could be targeting maritime traffic in the region. Pictures emerged today of a hole in the hull of one of the four targeted vessels, a Norwegian-flagged tanker (right), after the metal was torn open having been ‘struck by an unknown object’.
