Saudi Arabia bans tight-skinned outfits, hats, make-up for hospital workers

They are also banned from wearing outfits with images and inscriptions violating Islam

Workers at hospitals in Saudi Arabia have been instructed to observe a conservative dress code while on duty, a Saudi newspaper reported Wednesday. Workers at the health facilities are obliged not to wear see-through and tight-skinned clothes or those with slits, Okaz reported, citing unidentified sources.

They are also banned from wearing outfits emblazoned with images, inscriptions, or emblems violating Islam, displaying hairdos, donning hats, or wearing make-up, it added. Directives have been made to primary health care managers and department heads at hospitals to ensure female and male workers’ compliance with the dressing regulations and exclude the violators, the sources said.

Health workers are required to sign a related formal notice for compliance, they added.
