The two parties did not give any further details about the deal, except that WWE would hold a show in Saudi Arabia and perhaps in the whole of the MENA region at least once a year in the coming 10 years.
In 2014, WWE held its first show in Riyadh, which featured several large wrestling names such as Dolph Ziggler, Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Seth Rollins.
WWE has also held shows in neighbouring GCC member the UAE in 2012 and 2016. The two most recent events held in the country were one in December 2017 in Abu Dhabi and one in April 2016 in Dubai.
US-based WWE specialises in professional wrestling; however, it has investments in a variety of fields such as real estate, movies, among other businesses.
