Iranian threats to the UAE slammed by Bahrain

Bahrain has denounced Iranian threats to the UAE, warning of their “serious repercussions” for regional security.

Iranian threats were made by different officials in Tehran after the UAE last week reached a landmark Peace Treaty with Israel.

At a weekly meeting, the Bahraini government said the Iranian threats harm regional stability and constitute “rejected interference” in an internal affair and sovereign decisions of the UAE, the Bahraini news agency BNA reported.

“This breaches principles of international law, which respects sovereignty of countries and non-interference in their internal affairs,” the government said.

“The kingdom of Bahrain stands by the sisterly UAE in preserving its security and stability.”

The online meeting was chaired by Bahrain’s Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The Bahraini government also congratulated the UAE on reaching an agreement with Israel and the US stopping Israeli annexation of Palestinian territory, describing it as a “diplomatic achievement”.

Bahrain said the “historic” agreement will enhance chances for peace and stability in the Middle East.
